Refrigerator Water Filters

Refrigerator water filters are one of the most economical and sensible options in home water filters. In most homes today, refrigerators include both a water dispenser and an ice cube maker/dispenser. Both of these refrigerator features are normally well used.
The water and the ice filter sit invisibly behind the refrigerator so you don’t actually ever see them, but they are doing their job. However, without the right filtration system on that supply, your drinking water is only as good as its source.

This time of environmental awareness is the best time to consider how to best protect your own health and that of your loved ones. Municipal water just is not clean. Besides that, most contain a dangerous amount of fluoride. Most people do not need the fluoride because they get it from their toothpaste.

Any chemical, even those that can help such as fluoride, can be dangerous when consumed in large quantities. In addition, there can be as many as 2100 different contaminants (not including poisons and chemicals) that can reside in average tap water supplies.

People are normally aware that their tap water may not be safe but don’t stop to consider the fact that that carries over to the refrigerator water as well. Taking the time to keep a family safe is worth the time doing it right. Keeping filters at every point of entry for water in your home is the safe way to go.

More Refrigerator Filter Information

Refrigerator filters normally should be changed every 6 months. This is a relatively easy process that you can do yourself or you can hire someone to do it for you. The filters are inexpensive and overall, they are one of the less expensive upgrades you can make to your home.

Municipal Water Pollution

The goal of the municipal water treatment centers used to be providing clean and soil free water to consumers. However, in recent years, concern has shifted to disposing of the waste water that comes from homes. As a result of that shift in focus, more and more toxins and poisons make their way into city water and into our homes. It is up to the individual home owner or even renter to ensure their family’s water is safe to drink.

You could rely on someone else to 'do the job', but then the job of purifying your home water would probably never be done. To optimize the safety and purity of your home water supply, consider simple solutions like refrigerator water filters and possibly other water filtration systems as well.
