Organic Green Tea

Since the earliest years, tea has been a popular drink especially in the East. The Chinese and Indians have been among the first to cultivate tea as suggested by the botanical research. For many people, tea often finds a place in their healthy diet. Organic green tea is very popular among the other varieties that are available.

It is made from the leaves of Camellia sinesis. It comes in various types: green, oolong and black. The main difference it the way they are processed. It contains high levels of polyphenols which is a powerful antioxidant. These antioxidants are known for various health benefits.

Ancient Indian and Chinese medicines have used green tea as a stimulant, for better heart, diuretic, astringent, better digestion, regulating blood sugar etc. There are many laboratory studies that have now been done to support the above.

Additional benefits are reducing cholesterol, reducing the risk of cardiovascular issues, helpful with cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, infection issues, helping with immune system etc.

The free radicals that occur during the oxidation process are neutralized by this tea, further averting the deterioration of the cell membranes. It has been useful for cognitive issues, improving bone densities, dental cavities and kidney stones. The health benefits do not stop here.

Organic green tea is widely known for its impact on weight loss. It is said that drinking this tea will help in suppressing the appetite, increases the metabolism and thus result in losing the extra pounds. There are experts that say that up to three to five cups a day can reduce some extra calories. While some others advice to consume extracts or pills made of the tea. It is wise to consult a health nutritionist before consuming the supplements all by yourself.

Brewing green tea has some basic specifications. Usually one spoon of these tea leaves is used for 100-150 ml of water. These may vary as per the brand being used. The usual temperature for brewing is anywhere between 180 degrees to 190 degrees. The flame duration varies. It is usually boiled for about two – three minutes. There are various kinds of qualities in these tea leaves. Depending on the quality the steeping process is decided. The better the quality, lower the time taken to steep.

Organic Green Tea

With the temptation, one also needs to take some basic precautions while consuming the Organic green tea. It has caffeine content in it as well. Consuming too much of the tea can lead to some problems like vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, insomnia, headaches etc. There are several medications that may react to this tea. Some examples are Benzodiazepines, Beta-blockers, Adenosine, Clozapine, Antibiotics, Oral Contraceptives, medications that are meant for thinning the blood, Lithium etc. Ensure you are not on any of these pills.

There is scientific data that says that this tea is not recommended for children. Pregnant women, individuals with kidney problems, stomach ulcers, heart problems and psychological issues should not directly consume this tea without supervision. Make sure you know and have read enough before indulging. Careful consumption is advised.
